The Gruffalo is a classic story for little ones. So, naturally, it’s a brilliant first birthday party idea for your baby. With so many vibrant characters, the possibilities are endless when it comes to organising a get-together that your family and friends will remember.
When the day is over, it’s a lovely idea to give all of your guests a little reminder of the special day, and to thank them for coming to your Gruffalo themed Party. We’ve got a few quick and easy favour ideas, so you don’t have to worry.
Looking for something other than a Gruffalo get-together? See our whole list of first birthday party themes, here.
1. Gruffalo favours.
Let the children take home their own little chocolate Gruffalo in its own little bag – yummy.
2. Character party favours.
For ‘The Gruffalo’ take-home party favours use chocolate covered sultanas for mouse droppings, jelly snakes for ‘snakes’ and yoghurt covered sultanas dyed green with food colouring for ‘poisonous warts’.
3. Gruffalo Playdough.
We know little ones absolutely can’t get enough of playdough. So, why not make a little bag of Playdough in a few different colours? The children can make the Gruffalo, the snake, the owl and the fox at home. You could even add a little picture of each character to help guide them. This could be an amazing party activity, too.

6. Party bags.
This party organiser has gone all out with Gruffalo goodies. Their party bags are complete with balloons, bubbles, bracelets and a glow stick stamper pen. You could fill a bag with anything you liked or some of the ideas from this list.

We think these felt Gruffalo characters are adorable. The children can act out the story at home and remember what a wonderful time they had at the party.
